Prints

A giclee (zhee-clay) print is a high-quality, digital reproduction. These prints are created from a high-resolution scan, printed with a wide-format inkjet printer that uses pigment (not dye), on archival paper. Together, these criteria create a print that is made to last and looks almost identical to the original 2-D work. Prints are shipped rolled up in a mailing tube - please allow up to 3 weeks for shipment and up to 4-5 weeks for enlarged prints which I don’t keep in my inventory and need to custom order.

I began this piece a few years ago while working on a passion-project in Yosemite. My dear friend and talented singer, songwriter Jessica Kilroy and I set out to write and record an album while climbing El Capitan. We spent 3 nights climbing and sleeping on a portaledge on the North American Wall. We trailed and extra haulbag full of instruments and recording equipment and even had a film crew documenting the process. While the project is incomplete, we wrote some wonderful music and the entire creative collaboration and experience was beautiful. After descending from El Capitan, I spent a couple days alone in the Valley making art. One of those days, I went up to Taft Point to get some footage of El Capitan from one of my favorite vantage points in the Valley. While capturing a timelapse, I did a quick reference drawing of El Cap ultimately inspiring this large painting. Art is a constantly evolving process for me. There have been periods in my life when my primary focus was music, other times video, and of course painting/drawing all along the way. Being able to take a break from one media to focus on others helps bring new perspective and inspiration to my work. However, there has always been a common thread; the ongoing search for that ineffable feeling, a deep yearning to experience life in the way I’ve only found through creativity and adventure.
