Tahoma Glow
Tahoma Glow
Description: I began this piece in Camp Schurman while guiding the Emmons Route on Tahoma. While I’m guiding, my days are quite busy and I’m often going to bed early for alpine-starts. Subsequently, I have to really force myself to make time for art, often right before the sun is going down, early in the morning, or when I’m tired after returning to camp after a summit bid. For this piece, I did a few plein air sessions at different times of the day during our few days at our base camp. The Emmons Glacier is the largest glacier in the continental US, and it’s early morning sunrise glow is stunning.
