Description: If you’re accustomed to my artwork from recent years, these may appear divergent. However, for me this work feels quite familiar, drawing upon my artistic roots from an era when I worked on canvas and board with acrylic, thick textures and layering as well as experimenting with Japanese printmaking papers like the Kitakata I’ve used here. As is the case with this series, occasionally I switch mediums to force a change. The unfamiliar materials precipitate a struggle, a tension that pushes me in directions I wouldn’t have encountered otherwise. In this case, rediscovering some of the inspiration from my formative years has been cathartic. It’s as if it resurfaced from a time when I avoided landscape art and is now being repurposed in a way I never envisioned. These pieces come ready to hang but if you would like it framed
